Viewing and cancelling
a Direct Debit

In a nutshell

While you can’t set up a Direct Debit without the input of the people you are paying, you can view and cancel your Direct Debit directly with us, whenever you like.

What you'll need

 

Access to your app

Your step-by-step guide:

  1. 01

    Login to your Mobile Banking app

  2. 02

    Select the account that the Direct Debit is set up for

  3. 03

    Select the 'Direct Debits' section

  4. 04

    Select the Direct Debit you want cancelled. You will see the detail of the Direct Debit, and the option to cancel the Direct Debit will appear at the bottom of this screen

Your Digital Banking login details

Your step-by- step guide:

    Log into Digital Banking

  2. 02

    Once logged in, head to 'Payments and transfers' in the left-hand menu

  3. 03

    Select 'Manage direct debits' from the 'Direct Debits' section

  4. 04

    This will take you to your existing Direct Debits where you can view and cancel them. It’s that easy

Your Royal Bank card

Your step-by-step guide:

  1. 01

    Head into a branch and bring your Royal Bank debit card. We’ll ask you to tap in your PIN to confirm your identity

  2. 02

    Tell us which Direct Debit you want to view or cancel and, if you want, we can cancel it for you there and then

What you'll need

 

Your Digital/telephone Banking details (they're the same thing)

Information about the Direct Debit which means: 

     - The name, account number and sort code
        of the company taking the Direct Debit

     - The frequency of the Direct Debit and
        the amount that's taken

    When you call us, you will be asked to tell us why you are calling.

  2. 02

    To cancel a direct debit, say 'cancel a direct debit'.

  3. 03

    Follow the prompts to complete your request.

  4. 04

    Make sure you have all the details outlined in the “what you’ll need” section above, we’ll need those bits to get the Direct Debit cancelled for you
